Data Center Decommissioning for TierPoint Customers
Data center decommissioning for TierPoint customers requires a clear division between operator support and the retirement of customer-owned hardware. ITAMG provides equipment removal, data destruction, secure transport and disposition reporting for the assets your organization approves.
Assign each task once, from remote-hands support through the final asset report. ITAMG scopes the retirement work around the site access and services confirmed by your authorized TierPoint contact.
Defined responsibility
Separate customer approvals, operator support and ITAMG’s removal and disposition work.
Coordinated physical work
Align the approved inventory with site access, handling and collection arrangements.
Complete asset records
Specify custody, data-treatment and recovery records before work begins.
Plan Decommissioning at Your TierPoint Deployment
Request an ITAMG consultation for customer-owned equipment at a U.S. TierPoint facility. Review the retirement inventory, operator support, access arrangements and required reporting.
Data sanitization aligned with NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2.
- Discuss the project Review the equipment, location, deadline and data-security requirements.
- Confirm the work Identify removal, destruction, transport and reporting needs, plus any site approvals.
- Prepare for a quote Establish the inventory and access information needed to price the agreed scope.
An equipment inventory is useful for the follow-up discussion; it is not required to complete this initial form.

Define TierPoint Customer Equipment Decommissioning
ITAMG scopes the removal and disposition of customer-owned equipment, with operator support and customer release decisions identified separately.
List the servers, storage, switches, racks and accessories approved for retirement. Confirm ownership before including equipment supplied through hosting, managed services or a lease. Obtain authorized hardware release after workload, network and retained-equipment dependencies are resolved.
The ITAMG work package can include de-racking, packing, data destruction, collection and asset recovery or recycling. Facility infrastructure, contract termination and migration delivery need their own owners and scope. A retirement project should not leave those tasks implied.
Coordinate TierPoint Remote Hands and Equipment Removal
TierPoint’s remote-hands services can overlap with physical preparation tasks, so define what the operator will do before assigning ITAMG’s removal work.
TierPoint’s remote-hands guidance describes portal requests, equipment inventory, vendor escorts, cabling and racking assistance. Confirm the work ordered for your deployment and identify the handoff to ITAMG. Those published capabilities do not establish your facility’s complete exit procedure.

Discuss Your TierPoint Equipment Removal
Request a ConsultationData Destruction and Asset Records for TierPoint Customers
Specify the data-treatment method and asset records for retired TierPoint customer equipment before the physical work is scheduled.
ITAMG offers erasure or physical destruction, performed onsite or at its facility. Select the method against your security policy, media and reuse plan. Onsite treatment needs confirmed permission, working space and pricing; offsite processing needs a defined collection and custody arrangement.
Require the records to connect collected equipment with completed treatment and final disposition. Identify how detached drives, failed erasure and inventory discrepancies will be handled. Use NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 to frame sanitization decisions without treating a service order as proof that treatment has occurred.
TierPoint Customer Decommissioning Costs and Deliverables
Price ITAMG’s removal and disposition scope alongside any separately ordered operator work, with a clear record of what each party will deliver.
Provide the equipment quantities and models, packing requirements, approved hours, loading conditions and data-treatment instructions. Identify work already assigned to the operator so the ITAMG quote reflects the remaining agreed tasks. Confirm how quantity changes, additional visits or unresolved access requirements would affect the price.
Agree the recovery terms for eligible hardware and the reporting scope for collected, destroyed, resold or recycled assets. Assign final inventory review and exception resolution to a named customer contact. Physical equipment removal and contract or service termination need separate completion checks.
ITAMG’s R2v3, NAID AAA and RIOS credentials support the relevant processing services. Trained, insured and background-checked technicians support the removal work, with the project scope identifying the transport and reporting arrangements.
TierPoint Data Centers and Facility Planning Resources
ITAMG’s TierPoint directory provides facility identification while your customer agreement establishes the deployment and authorized contacts.
Use the TierPoint data center directory to locate the relevant facility context. Verify the exact building and customer space before submitting access or work requests, especially when a market has more than one facility.
For additional markets, browse the main data center directory and the decommissioning locations hub. Keep separate release lists and site contacts for each location in a multi-site retirement.
TierPoint Customer Decommissioning Questions
Should TierPoint remote hands or ITAMG remove the equipment?
Assign the tasks according to the operator service order and ITAMG project scope. Confirm who performs any preparation, de-racking, packing and collection work, and who documents the handoff. The objective is a complete work package with one responsible party for each task.
Does a remote-hands request cover data destruction and asset recovery?
Confirm the services actually ordered. A request for physical support does not by itself establish the media-treatment method, recovery terms or asset records for the retirement. Specify those deliverables in the relevant service scopes.
What site approvals are needed before ITAMG removes equipment?
Have your authorized TierPoint contact confirm crew access, permitted work and loading arrangements before onsite work is scheduled. ITAMG’s project scope should match the tasks and approvals for your customer space.
