Data Center Decommissioning for H5 Data Centers Customers
Data center decommissioning for H5 Data Centers customers from ITAMG covers the agreed retirement of customer-owned IT equipment at U.S. deployments. ITAMG scopes removal, packing, data destruction, transport, resale, recycling and reporting around the work your project requires.
H5’s remote-hands offering includes decommissioning and media-disposal tasks. Define any work ordered from H5 and the separate ITAMG scope so the equipment, treatment and reporting responsibilities are clear.
One defined task list
Identify work already ordered from H5 before pricing the ITAMG removal and disposition scope.
Assigned media treatment
Name the party, method and location for each media group before equipment changes hands.
Reconciled project records
Connect inventory, custody, processing and recovery records across the agreed handoffs.
Plan Your H5 Customer Equipment Retirement
Request an ITAMG consultation to review the hardware, any operator-ordered tasks and the work still required. Establish the removal, data-treatment, transport and reporting scope for a quote.
Data sanitization aligned with NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2.
- Discuss the project Review the equipment, location, deadline and data-security requirements.
- Confirm the work Identify removal, destruction, transport and reporting needs, plus any site approvals.
- Prepare for a quote Establish the inventory and access information needed to price the agreed scope.
An equipment inventory is useful for the follow-up discussion; it is not required to complete this initial form.

Define H5 Customer Equipment Decommissioning Scope
ITAMG’s scope should identify both the customer equipment being retired and the tasks assigned to its team.
Start with the servers, storage, networking, media and customer-owned accessories approved for retirement. Separate retained devices and provider-owned equipment. Confirm shutdown authorization and release of the approved assets; facility access and physical-work permissions need operator confirmation.
H5’s remote-hands service list includes device decommissions, secure media disposal, vendor coordination and inventory reporting. Identify any such tasks already ordered for this project. ITAMG can scope the required removal, packing, transport, data treatment, recovery and recycling around that agreed work.
Assign H5 Remote-Hands and ITAMG Removal Responsibilities
H5 orders and ITAMG’s quote need a shared task allocation when both organizations will handle the retirement project.
The public H5 page describes requesting remote-hands work through AccessH5. A listed capability does not establish that a task has been ordered, approved or completed for your equipment. Confirm the actual work request, customer instructions and operator permissions before scheduling the ITAMG crew.
Assign each physical step to one responsible party: disconnecting, de-racking, removing media, packing, staging and releasing the load. If H5 prepares equipment for collection, specify what ITAMG receives and where custody transfers. If ITAMG performs the rack work, arrange the necessary access and coordination.
-
Confirm the ordered work
Identify the H5 tasks actually requested and the ITAMG services required for the project.
-
Assign physical handling
Name who disconnects, de-racks, packs and stages each equipment group.
-
Approve media instructions
Specify who treats the media, using which method, at which location.
-
Define handoff records
Agree on the inventory, condition and custody evidence exchanged at collection.
Discuss Your Retirement Responsibilities
Request a ConsultationCoordinate H5 Customer Media Disposal and Custody Records
Each media group needs one approved treatment instruction and a record from the party responsible for carrying it out.
H5 lists secure media disposal among its remote-hands tasks, but that service-list entry does not identify a treatment method or the evidence supplied for your order. If H5 performs that work, confirm the media identifiers, approved outcome and required records directly with the operator. Share the completed work and remaining equipment scope with ITAMG.
Where ITAMG performs erasure or physical destruction, specify onsite or facility processing in its quote. Onsite work requires facility permission and is separately priced. Keep processed, untreated and retained media clearly identified at handoff so equipment is not sent through duplicate or conflicting treatment instructions.
Reconcile the collected hardware with the applicable destruction, recycling and recovery records. ITAMG’s certificates document its assigned work; they do not substitute for evidence of separately ordered operator work.
Price H5 Customer Decommissioning, Recovery and Closeout
A usable retirement budget separates operator-ordered tasks from ITAMG’s labor, logistics, processing and equipment recovery terms.
Provide the inventory, work already assigned, collection point, access hours, packing needs and media instructions. If equipment will be staged before pickup, identify the expected packing units and any remaining ITAMG handling. If it stays installed until the ITAMG visit, include the approved rack work and loading conditions.
Agree how equipment condition, configuration and resale deductions affect any recovery credit. At completion, compare the collected inventory with the work each party performed and resolve missing assets or treatment exceptions. Keep account and service cancellation confirmations separate from physical collection records.
ITAMG brings trained, insured and background-checked technicians to its assigned physical work, with GPS-tracked, insured vehicles among its logistics capabilities. Confirm the actual project arrangements and serialized records during scoping.
H5 Data Centers and Customer Deployment Directory
The ITAMG H5 directory provides facility context for identifying the customer deployment involved in a retirement.
Browse the H5 Data Centers directory and verify the facility, customer space and current operator contact against your agreement. H5’s public site identifies U.S. locations; the work permissions and ordered services for an individual deployment still require confirmation.
Use the main data center directory for additional facility context and the decommissioning locations hub for other planning resources. A directory entry does not establish an ITAMG partnership with H5 or authorize onsite work.
H5 Customer Decommissioning Questions
Does H5 already offer decommissioning or media disposal?
H5 lists device decommissions, secure media disposal and inventory reporting in its remote-hands offering. Confirm the tasks ordered for your equipment before defining ITAMG’s scope. The project may need separately assigned packing, transport, recovery, recycling or data-treatment work.
Can ITAMG collect equipment after H5 performs rack work?
ITAMG can scope collection of approved customer equipment that has been prepared for handoff. Confirm who packs and stages it, what inventory accompanies the load, and what data treatment remains. The operator and customer must confirm the required access and release arrangements.
Who provides data-destruction and inventory records?
Define the required records with the party performing each task. ITAMG supplies the agreed records for its assigned collection and processing work; confirm evidence for separately ordered H5 work with H5. Reconcile identifiers across the records before closing the retirement project.
