Data Center Decommissioning for EdgeConneX Customers

Data center decommissioning for EdgeConneX customers from ITAMG covers approved customer-owned servers, storage and network equipment at U.S. deployments. ITAMG scopes de-racking, packing, data destruction, transport and disposition reporting around the hardware your organization releases.

Connect the equipment list, approved work and outbound shipment before collection. An EdgeOS ticket can document a request; confirm the permissions and physical handoff separately.

Defined retirement inventory

Separate released hardware from retained equipment before arranging rack work or shipment.

Coordinated outbound handling

Connect the work request, packing responsibilities, carrier details and collection point.

Traceable processing records

Keep the collected assets connected to the approved media treatment and disposition reports.

Equipment and Work

Define EdgeConneX Customer Equipment Retirement

ITAMG’s removal scope starts with the customer-owned hardware approved to leave an EdgeConneX deployment.

List the servers, storage, networking and accessories being retired, with rack positions and serial numbers where available. Mark retained devices and connections separately. Confirm shutdown authorization and that remaining systems no longer depend on the equipment being removed.

The EdgeOS help guide describes organization equipment documentation and methods of procedure. Use the relevant current records to identify the work, then confirm ownership and release authority. ITAMG can scope de-racking, packing, data treatment, transport, resale and recycling against that approved inventory.

Work and Shipping

Coordinate EdgeConneX Removal and Outbound Shipping Requests

EdgeOS supports related service and shipping tickets, which can connect a removal work request with the outbound collection details.

The public help guide describes linked shipping requests, an outbound destination field, and shipping details such as carrier and tracking information. Confirm the required collection and timing information with the operator contact. Creating or linking a ticket does not establish that the hardware has been approved for release.

Keep one agreed inventory behind the physical work and shipment. If quantities, packing units or the collection destination change, reconcile the records before handoff. Give ITAMG the approved crew access, work window, loading route and responsibility for any operator-controlled tasks.

  1. Describe the removal work

Identify the equipment and physical tasks, including disconnecting, de-racking, packing and staging.

  2. Connect shipment details

Confirm the applicable request references, collection point, destination, carrier and packing units.

  3. Confirm access and release

Establish the approved personnel, work permission and equipment-release requirements with EdgeConneX.

  4. Reconcile the collection

Match the released inventory to the units handed to ITAMG and record any changes.

Media and Custody

Document EdgeConneX Customer Media Treatment and Custody

An EdgeOS shipping ticket and an ITAMG data-destruction record document different parts of an EdgeConneX customer retirement.

Decide which media must be erased, physically destroyed or retained before packing. ITAMG offers onsite and facility processing, with the method, location and price defined in the quote. Onsite work requires the necessary facility permission and working arrangements.

Record the equipment at collection and preserve the link between removable media and its parent system. Agree how missing serial numbers, failed erasure or changed treatment instructions will be resolved. Match the applicable serialized destruction and recycling records to the collected assets; a completed transport ticket cannot establish their treatment outcome.

Quote and Completion

Price EdgeConneX Customer Decommissioning and Closeout

ITAMG’s quote should identify the physical work, transport, media processing and reporting assigned to its team.

Provide the inventory, access conditions, approved work hours, packing requirements and processing destination. Identify any rack work or staging already ordered from the operator. Specify who supplies packing materials, who prepares the shipment and where responsibility transfers to ITAMG.

Agree on any equipment recovery terms separately from the cost of removal and data treatment. At closeout, reconcile the collected inventory, processing exceptions and applicable certificates. Track operator and carrier service changes independently; collecting equipment does not cancel a service order.

ITAMG’s trained, insured and background-checked technicians support the physical project. Its logistics capabilities include GPS-tracked, insured vehicles. Confirm the crew, transport and documentation arrangements for the particular collection.

Data Center Directory

EdgeConneX Data Centers and Deployment Identification

The ITAMG EdgeConneX directory helps locate the facility context for a U.S. customer equipment-retirement project.

Use the EdgeConneX data center directory to identify the relevant facility, then compare it with your account records and ordered customer space. The operator’s location overview includes U.S. markets; confirm current operating and access contacts for the actual deployment.

The main data center directory provides broader facility context. The decommissioning locations hub connects to additional planning resources. Directory inclusion does not imply an ITAMG affiliation with EdgeConneX or confirm permission to work at a listed facility.

Service Questions

EdgeConneX Customer Decommissioning Questions

Does an EdgeOS shipping ticket authorize equipment removal?

A shipping ticket records a request; it does not, by itself, establish equipment-release approval. Confirm the customer authorization, operator permissions and approved asset list before scheduling collection. ITAMG’s scope should identify the physical work and handoff explicitly.

What outbound shipment details should the removal plan include?

The EdgeOS help guide identifies an outbound destination field and shipping details such as carrier and tracking information. Confirm the applicable collection process, then reconcile those details with the actual equipment and packing units. Identify who packs, stages and releases the shipment to ITAMG.

Can an EdgeOS ticket replace disposition certificates?

An operator ticket cannot, by itself, document ITAMG’s media-treatment or recycling outcome. Keep the work and shipping references alongside the collected-asset record and applicable serialized certificates. Resolve differences between the inventory and processing records before closing the project.
