ITAMG Data Center Services

Data Center Decommissioning for CyrusOne Customers

Data center decommissioning for CyrusOne customers begins with the customer’s decision to retire its own IT hardware and the scope required to complete that work. ITAMG provides equipment removal, data destruction, transport, asset recovery and recycling services for approved enterprise retirement projects.

Define the full project before choosing a collection or processing route. ITAMG scopes customer-owned equipment retirement around the site requirements confirmed by your authorized CyrusOne contact.

Customer Scope

Customer-Owned Equipment Retirement at CyrusOne

The CyrusOne customer’s hardware-retirement decision should identify the equipment, approved work and intended disposition before collection is arranged.

CyrusOne’s June 2026 sustainability report, reporting on 2025, assigns server retirement decisions to customers and describes an optional onsite recycling program at its U.S. facilities. Confirm the available program and its terms with your facility contact before deciding which work your project needs.

ITAMG can scope de-racking, packing, data destruction, transport and asset recovery or recycling for the released equipment. Identify the tasks and records required for your retirement, including any services already arranged through the operator. A collection arrangement should be evaluated against that complete scope.

Removal Planning

Plan CyrusOne Customer Equipment Removal and Approvals

An ITAMG removal work package should connect the customer-approved inventory with the facility access and handling arrangements for the project.

List the servers, storage, networking equipment and customer-owned accessories to be retired. Separate retained systems, leased assets and operator infrastructure. Confirm that dependencies are resolved and shutdown is authorized before the removal crew handles the equipment.

Have the authorized customer contact confirm the facility’s current work-request, contractor, escort and loading requirements. Public sustainability information is not a site access or asset-release instruction. Record the approvals applicable to your own agreement and deployment.

  1. Release the inventory

Identify owned assets and the person authorized to approve their retirement and collection.

  2. Confirm facility requirements

Check the permitted work, crew documentation, loading route and approved schedule.

  3. Assign existing service orders

Identify any operator-arranged collection or physical support so the ITAMG scope is coordinated.

  4. Define the handoff records

Specify how the collected assets and custody transfer will be reconciled before transport.

Data and Disposition

Data Destruction, Reuse and Recycling for CyrusOne Customers

Select the data-treatment method before choosing the final reuse or recycling route for customer-owned equipment.

ITAMG offers erasure and physical destruction, either onsite or at its facility. Your security policy, media type and reuse plan determine the appropriate choice. Onsite treatment has separate permission, space and pricing requirements; facility processing needs a documented custody handoff and destination.

Use NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 to frame sanitization requirements. Identify the evidence required for each data-bearing asset, the handling of failed erasure and the relationship between removed drives and their original systems. Specify the method and records in the service scope instead of assuming that a recycling selection answers every data-security question.

Cost and Records

CyrusOne Customer Decommissioning Costs and Asset Records

Price the customer’s equipment-retirement work against defined labor, logistics, data treatment and reporting deliverables.

Share the inventory, approved work hours, packing requirements, loading conditions and target date with ITAMG. Confirm included services, separately priced work and the process for approving changes. Any resale recovery depends on the actual hardware, data requirements and agreed commercial terms.

Specify the collected-asset report, custody documentation and certificates applicable to contracted destruction or recycling. Require unresolved inventory and processing exceptions to remain visible until the customer accepts a resolution. Keep operator service termination and facility handback separate from the ITAMG processing record.

ITAMG supports retirement projects with trained, insured and background-checked technicians and secure transport capabilities that include GPS-tracked, insured vehicles. R2v3, NAID AAA and RIOS credentials support the relevant processing services.

Data Center Directory

CyrusOne Data Centers and Facility Identification

Use ITAMG’s CyrusOne directory to identify the facility context, then verify the exact customer deployment and authorized contacts in your account records.

Browse the CyrusOne data center directory. For a multi-site retirement, maintain a separate released inventory, access contact and collection record for each site.

The main data center directory supports additional facility identification. The decommissioning locations hub connects the related service-planning resources. Neither a directory listing nor this service page establishes an ITAMG affiliation with CyrusOne.

Service Questions

CyrusOne Customer Decommissioning Questions

Does the CyrusOne recycling program define the whole decommissioning project?

Confirm the services and records included in the arrangement you choose. Your project may also require equipment release, de-racking, packing, media treatment, transport and asset reconciliation. Assign those tasks explicitly before work begins.

Can ITAMG assess equipment recovery for a CyrusOne customer?

ITAMG can review eligible customer-owned hardware for recovery as part of the project scope. Provide models, quantities, condition and data-treatment requirements. Agree the commercial terms before treating potential resale proceeds as a project credit.

Who arranges CyrusOne access for the removal crew?

Your authorized CyrusOne contact should confirm the current process for crew access, permitted work and loading. ITAMG scopes the proposed removal around the approvals for your equipment and customer space.
