What are my data destruction service level options?

We provide access to all data destruction tools and service levels for the secure destruction of electronic data including hard drive shredding, and NIST 800-88 secure erasure.

IT Asset Management Group provides DoD x3 binary erasure or secure erasure as a standard service level for all IT asset disposal projects. If hard drive erasure fails due to bad sectors, mechanical errors, or otherwise do not erase to one hundred percent satisfaction the hard drives are quarantined and then physically shredded.

The typical secure erasure options are defined below.

  • Off-site NIST 800-88 (PURGE) 2014 - Standard secure erasure for all hard drives at IT AMG plant
  • On-site NIST 800-88 (PURGE) 2014 - Standard secure erasure for media at customer's location
  • DoD 3 Pass 2006 - Three pass secure erasure for media.  Can be offered as legacy service level for any accounts that require it.
  • Custom Secure Erasure - More than three pass secure erasure can be customized for clients under contract. This is a premium service that can be offered at additional costs both off-site and at customer's location.

Many clients do not allow the secure erasure and reuse of the hard drives. In these cases we offer all of the following options in addition to or as a replacement of secure erasure.

  • On-site hard drive shredding - Physical drive shredding at customer's location.
  • Off-site hard drive shredding - Physical drive shredding at IT AMG plant location.

In some regions where service levels may differ or when some customer's have specific tools that must be used we will also supplement our standard data destruction service levels with the following.

  • On-Site Degausser - Magnetic destruction of drives at customer's location.
  • Off-Site Degausser - Magnetic destruction of drives at customer's location.
  • On-Site Drive Punching - Physical Compression destruction of drives at customer's location where drive shredding is not a service level option.
  • Off-Site Drive Punching - Physical compression destruction of drives at a plant location where drive shredding is not a service level option.
